As part of an occasional series highlighting those visitor attractions slightly less well known in the local area we're starting with the International Horse Rescue Sanctuary at Bellwade Farm just 20 minutes along the road from The Gordon. This wonderful place takes in horses from all backgrounds - pets, working animals, racehorses - brings them back to full health and then either rehomes or for those animals which can't be rehomed they live out their days in the fields along the river bank. The centre is open several days a week and has a great cafe with both hot food and cakes. Steve and mum Kathleen visited on the 1 May and met these two wonderful horses being moved from the stables out to the fields.
